Andrew McGuirk

Andrew McGuirk is a member of the McCombs MBA Class of 2027, concentrating in venture capital and entrepreneurship. He serves as VP of Placement, helping match top-tier MBA talent with internships and pipeline opportunities at leading venture capital and private equity firms – strengthening both student outcomes and long-term industry relationships.

At McCombs, Andrew is also an active member of the Graduate Entrepreneurship Society and the Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA) Club, engaging with founder communities and operator networks in Austin and beyond.

Before business school, Andrew was a Research Analyst at Stansberry Research, where he developed proprietary frameworks and authored high-impact research across the technology, media, and telecom sectors. His work spanned AI-driven data centers, subscription economics, and digital advertising, delivering actionable insights to a readership of over 150,000 investors and operators and shaping strategic investment thinking. His work emphasized fundamental analysis, industry structure, and the identification of inflection points in emerging technologies.

Before joining Stansberry Research, Andrew earned his Bachelor of Science from Wake Forest University, where he majored in Mathematical Business and minored in Statistics, building a strong quantitative foundation in modeling, probability, and applied analytics.

Andrew is interested in pursuing roles in venture capital and growth equity investing, as well as operating roles at early-stage and growth-stage companies. Long-term, he aims to build, acquire, or invest in companies where he can play a hands-on role in shaping strategy and execution.
